CatalogLens for Shopify privacy policy

CatalogLens for Shopify is a browser extension that tells you whether the online store you are viewing runs on Shopify, and shows its theme, apps, product catalog statistics, newest products and best-sellers. It can export the store's public product catalog to CSV or JSON.
When it runs. The extension does nothing until you click its toolbar button. Only then, and only in the tab you are viewing, it reads that page and asks the same website for the information it publishes to every visitor: /meta.json, /products.json, /collections.json and the collection page sorted by best-selling. On sites that show no sign of Shopify it makes no extra requests. It has no access to other tabs or sites and never runs in the background.
What it reads. The page's public HTML (the Shopify theme settings in the page and the addresses of the scripts and stylesheets it loads, to recognise apps) and the store's public product data (titles, prices, variants, SKUs, images, dates, tags and descriptions). It does not read form fields, passwords, cookies, your account on the store or anything you type.
Where your data goes. Nowhere. Results are computed inside your browser. Exports are created on your computer. The extension has no servers of its own and no analytics, and it never sends the pages you inspect, the product data or your browsing to us or to anyone else.
What is stored. Your Pro license status and, if you use the Pro watchlist, the stores you save (address, name, product count and dates of your checks) are kept in your browser's extension storage. Product data is held in the inspected tab's memory only until you close or reload it.
License checks. If you buy Pro, the license key you enter is sent to our payment provider (Gumroad, Polar or Lemon Squeezy) to confirm it is valid, and re-checked about once a week. In Firefox you are asked for permission before the key is sent. Nothing else is sent with it. The payment provider's privacy policy covers your purchase details.
No sale or sharing. We do not sell, rent or share any data. We do not use data for advertising, credit decisions or any purpose other than running the extension.
Your control. Remove stores from the watchlist with the ✕ button. Removing the extension deletes all of its stored data. You are responsible for how you use exported data, including respecting each store's terms and intellectual property (product photos and descriptions belong to their owners).
